It’s been a while since our last blog, and whilst we are still getting to grips with the ever changing rules regarding COVID-19, we have been busy in the warehouse! In Ben’s last blog he mentioned our new CNC machine which is now fully functioning and we are busy exploring its capabilities. We have experienced a noticeable downturn in business since the beginning of the pandemic regarding our sales of deckchairs (we know we aren’t alone in this) so we decided to look at the other products we could easily manufacture using the equipment we currently have. As a result of this, GD&F was born!
Currently when we print a Giant Deckchair sling there is a small area down the side which we print the slings for our Bantham chairs. This space is now being used to print our superfunky slogan banners, which are available in A4 or A3ish size, with fun words and bright colours! The canvas banners are made from super easy to cut, sew, embroider, glue, frame or just about anything else you can think of material, and we hope that they will prove popular with creative folk wanting to brighten up their lives.
The CNC machine (or ‘Captain Neat Cut’ as it is affectionately known) is now fully geared up to machine parts of our Giant Deckchairs which will mean increased accuracy and an improved finish. We are tweaking our other new wooden products, which include plant stands, DIY sign kits for you to paint, and a selection of 3D shapes for decorating and also some super fresh botanical silhouettes. Our Instagram account, and Facebook provide inspiration and details of all our new products.
